Orleans Town Centre

Forum was chosen by the City of Ottawa to design, build, finance, operate and lease the Orléans Arts Centre, and to turn 19 acres of vacant land into new town centre in the community of Orléans.  Through innovation and creativity Forum created a three-stage development plan that represents a total investment of more than $225 million.  The complete project will include the 86,000 square foot $35 million LEED Silver certified Shenkman Arts Centre, a 110 room Holiday Inn Express, 2 office buildings with an aggregate floor area of approximately 140,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, a seniors’ home, seniors' condos, mixed residential units, green space and supporting infrastructure.

By partnering with Forum, the City was able to ensure timely design and delivery of the new performing arts centre, provide cost certainty and operating efficiency for the Orléans Client Service Centre and facilitate the entire development, all without any initial capital outlay from the City.

" In all of those projects we found Forum to be...a very effective partner.  They know what they're doing. They drive a hard bargain. But they're easy to negotiate with and they understand exactly what the perspective, the risks are, the concerns are from the public sector side."
